Michael Ferreira was born in Stellenbosch to a South African father and German mother, so his favourite sport teams are good at both rugby and soccer. He studied actuarial science and still doesn’t know why he chose that major, but insists it has nothing to do with losing a bet. After four fuzzy years at varsity, Michael worked in Stellenbosch for a while before packing his bags and moving to Johannesburg where he seems to have finally settled. His interests range from the mundane such as Formula 1, golf, cooking, and hiking, to the more obscure such as embedded systems, automation, aviation, and fluid dynamics. In a different life he might have been an aeronautical engineer or, judging by the amount of utter nonsense he talks, a lawyer. Before he dies or becomes a robot, he would like to earn his PPL, try his luck at wing-suit flying, travel to all seven continents, walk a long-distance trail, and conquer a few mountains.
